Annual maintenance contracts are common in India and they suit the agency more than the client. A month's notice, everything handed over, done, no exit fee and no gap where the site quietly stops being watched.
If you'd rather run it yourself, that's genuinely fine too. We'll hand over everything and show whoever's taking it on how it works. Some businesses have someone in-house who can handle it, and in that case a care plan is money you don't need to spend.

Care plans in the Indian market typically run from a few thousand rupees a month for a small brochure site to considerably more for e-commerce or custom applications. What matters more than the number is what's actually included, some AMCs cover only hosting and nothing else.
Hosting is the server your site sits on. Maintenance is somebody making sure the site on that server still works, is up to date, is backed up and hasn't been broken into. Paying for hosting alone is very common and leaves you with nobody watching.
You need backups you can restore. Daily is a sensible default because it caps how much you'd lose. The more important question is whether anyone has ever tested restoring one, plenty of businesses discover their backups were failing silently only when they need them.
If nobody has been named, the honest answer is nobody. This is the single most common gap we find: the site was built well, handed over, and then left. Whoever it is, us, another agency, or someone in your team, it needs to be a named person with the logins.
